How to Get a Flat Stomach in 30 Days

Gather with friends for a glass of wine or a group jog and at some point someone will start in about her middle. "What happened to it?" she’ll ask. Lots of us have asked that question, and we blame childbearing, Ben & Jerry's or taking too few group jogs (and having too many glasses of wine instead). In fact, a 2014 Today show survey revealed that our bellies are, hands down, the body part we worry about most.

All of us want our waists back, but making that happen is tricky—and it's more than just a vanity move. Visceral fat, the kind that gathers in the midsection around your organs, has been linked to serious health problems and diabetes. So trimming our tummies is a smart goal—and one that is totally within our reach!

Eating the right foods and getting into an exercise routine can help us shed those pounds without feeling tortured. That's why Health developed the 30-Day Flat Belly Challenge in partnership with Tracy Anderson.

11 Fake Foods You Eat All the Time : Foods

If you pick up a block of Parmesan cheese at the grocery store, you assume it's the good stuff, preferably from Italy. But many times it's mixed with cheaper cheeses and sometimes wood pulp. (Now that's something to chew on!) Larry Olmsted calls out these frauds in his book Real Food/Fake Food. Here are the biggest offenders:

1. Coffee

If you brew your own pot at home, buy your beans whole, not ground. Ground coffee often contains additives, such as wheat, barley, and even twigs (crunchy!), because it's cheaper and harder to tell the difference in the bag.

2. Tea

Tea seems like such a wholesome drink, but some varieties are mixed with other leaves and sometimes even sawdust to make it last longer, Olmsted says.

Main Reasons for Weight Gain after Surgery

While most of us end up protesting about our weight gain, the tipping scales are a bigger thing for those who have recently had any kind of a surgery. There are many reasons that can lead to sudden or possible weight gain, but one major factor that plays a big role in upping your kilo count is a recent surgery.

Immediate weight gain after surgery is, in fact, more common than any other difficulty that might arise post-surgery. This weight gain often occurs in the follow up period. One of the biggest examples of such a weight gain is post-pregnancy weight gain, in cases where the delivery occurs with the help of a C-section. In such cases, about 80% of women suffer from significant weight gain after pregnancy. Other than such complicated surgeries, even minor surgeries like tonsillectomy can lead to weight gain.

5 Simple Steps to Make Bitter Guard Juice for Diabetes

Here is a simple and quick way to make bitter gourd juice for diabetes at home:

Take fresh bitter gourd and get a few lemons as well. To make the juice more effective, add a little bit of turmeric.

1. Wash the bitter gourd and peel its top skin. If it does not bother, you can simply let it be. Many people do not skin or peel the top skin away.

2. Cut the karela into fine pieces and apply salt properly by rubbing it with turmeric. Keep it for some time, and then extract the bitter juice out of it.

3. Once you see the water strained out of the bitter gourd, you can then crush the pieces in the mixer properly.

4. Sieve it if you want. Just have the full juice with the fiber after adding a little bit of fresh lemon juice for taste and tangy flavor.
